What is a Dental Veneer?
If you are not completely happy with the look of your smile, you might be wondering if there are options to help give you the smile you've been dreaming of. This may be possible with the help of dental veneers.
If you have stained or chipped teeth, veneers cover discolouration and other imperfections to help enhance the look of your teeth.
A dental veneer is a thin shell that your dentist bonds to the front of your natural teeth. At Midtown Kelowna Dental, we use porcelain veneers to repair a variety of dental issues and help improve your overall smile.
Lumineers®
At Midtown Kelowna Dental, we offer Lumineers to our patients. Lumineers are thin veneers that can often be placed with little to no removal of the natural tooth structure.
The Veneer Process
Generally, porcelain veneers take at least two dental visits. At your first appointment, your dentist will begin by taking an impression of your teeth so that a custom veneer can be created for you.
Once the veneer is ready, you will need to return for a second appointment where your dentist will bond your veneer to your natural tooth.
Reasons For Veneers
Dental veneers are often considered to be a less invasive alternative to restorative treatment options such as dental crowns. They can help create a uniform smile and address a variety of issues, including:
- Crooked teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Severely discoloured or stained teeth
- Worn or chipped teeth
- Uneven spaces
- Teeth that are too small or too large
