Positive Early Dental Experiences
If your child feels at ease during their first few visits to our clinic, this can help build good oral hygiene habits that will carry through to adulthood.
At Midtown Kelowna Dental, we offer a range of dental services that are tailored to the unique dental needs of kids. These services include preventive and restorative care and advice about caring for their teeth at home.
Kids can be so curious. If they have questions about what's happening, we will make sure that we explain each step of the process to them in an age-appropriate manner.
If your child is nervous about their appointment, we will work at their pace and take breaks if they get overwhelmed. These techniques go a long way toward helping prevent fear as your child learns about their oral health.
Your Child's First Visit
Infants should be seen by a dentist once they reach six months of age or at minimum by their first birthday. By this stage their first teeth, or primary teeth, will have started to erupt. This is a critical time to spot any problems before they become big concerns.
Dental Services for Kids
At Midtown Kelowna Dental, one of our goals is to help children achieve and maintain optimal oral health while they build good lifelong dental hygiene practices.
Preventive Dental Hygiene
Visiting the dentist for regular exams and cleanings when your child is young will help preserve the primary teeth until they are ready to fall out and be replaced by permanent teeth. If your child is at risk of developing tooth decay, fluoride treatments may be recommended.
Restorative Dental Services
If your child is at risk of tooth decay or develops a cavity your dentist may recommend restorative treatments such as dental fillings.
